Bill Withers was one of my favorite artists of all time. He had the ability to write such simple yet powerful songs that stand the test of time. His story is remarkable too – from his background making toilets, to not knowing how to play any musical instruments or write songs early on, to his confidence and ability to not be dictated to by any record companies, to his focus on his family. He’s a role model for me and many others, and he has greatly shaped my musical background. RIP Bill, you have made this world a better place.
